About makemymap.org

On this website your tweets from Twitter, photos from Mobypicture and locations from Foursquare can be put on a map. You can share this map with your friends. It's very simple: you log in on makemymap.org with your Facebook account and connect with Twitter, Mobypicture and Foursquare once. From that moment on, makemymap.org will take care of the rest.

On your personal map you can see where you have been and what you did there. You can also make a 'heat map' (a weather-like view of the places you have been). The color red marks the places you have visited often, and blue marks the places you have never or rarely visited.

When you're content with your map, you can easily share it with your friends. You can embed your map in your own website. To ease your mind: we do not save any information, so don't be afraid of spam or invasion of your privacy.

The reason Total Active Media made this website, is because we already have a lot of experience developing and implementing these techniques. We had never brought them all together, so we did that in this project.

This website has been made in one single day by Total Active Media, through our 'one day approach'. With this way of working a concrete result is made in one day by working efficiently with the right people. Robbert van 't Westende led thirteen professionals: Martijn Arts, Sean Blommaert, Valery Bukina, Daphne de Cloe, Roos Flooren, Marc van Gend, Suzanne Kaldenbach, Peter Lok, Fabian de Rijk, Marcel Schuitevoerder, Robert Vergouw, Paul Wolfs and Fred Wouters.

In this day we have dealt with four different techniques:
- OAuth [http://oauth.net/] logging in through Facebook with the graph API [http://graph.facebook.com/]
- The Twitter API [http://apiwiki.twitter.com/], Mobipicture API [http://api.mobypicture.com/] and the Foursquare API [http://groups.google.com/group/foursquare-api/web/api-documentation]
- Minimalising the interface by design and AJAX interface
- The embedding of the result, including sharing the end result in a social media way

Privacy

This website does not save any personal information except the FacebookID. The site will only use the information given by the API's (Application Programmers Interface) of the different social media websites.
